PERSONAL BEST (Bristol, UK)

https://personalbest.bandcamp.com/

Personal Best return to The Exchange to play songs from their upcoming brand new album, 'What You At', released June 14th on Sheer Luck Records and Dovetown. This is classic rock for tragic lesbians; expect plenty of guitar face, huge guitarmonies, and lyrics of love, empowerment, bitterness, and heartache.

KERMES (Leicester, UK)

https://kermes.bandcamp.com/

Kermes is an eight-legged pop monster from Leicester, previously described as “theatrical”, “captivating”, “sparkling”, and “from Leicester”. Over the last 3 years of touring the UK and Europe with the likes of Happy Accidents, itoldyouiwouldeatyou and Crywank, they’ve built a reputation for chaotic and euphoric live shows, (unintentionally!) breaking all of their equipment, and awkward third-person biographies. Their debut album, ‘We Choose Pretty Names’ (2018), tackles gender dysphoria, horrible men and dysfunctional relationships with “fearsome intelligence and attitude” (Kerrang), wrapped in a delicious package of “confrontational agit-pop” (Drowned in Sound); their mothers claimed to like it, but who can ever be sure? Anyway. Kermes! They are your favourite band’s favourite band’s favourite band! Please clap!

PUP TENT (Bristol, UK)

Personal Best

Kermes is an eight-legged pop monster from Leicester; we’ve been described as “theatrical”, “captivating”, “sparkling”, and “from Leicester”. We are a melodramatic DIY indiepunk band, with chips on several shoulders and quite a lot to prove. The songs are about gender dysphoria and shitheads and wanting to die, and sound a bit like Talking Heads having a weird fight with Martha and Cloud Nothings. Our debut album, "We Choose Pretty Names", is coming out on the 13th of April 2018 via Robot Needs Home.

The band have received attention from BBC 6Music, Dork, the 405, God Is In the TV (Sound of 2018) and Amazing Radio amongst others. Alongside a main-stage performance at Handmade Festival 2017, as well as UK tours and shows with the likes of Happy Accidents, itoldyouiwouldeatyou, Muncie Girls, Kagoule, The Big Moon, Get Inuit and Colour Me Wednesday, they’ve proved to be equally at home in thousand-capacity venues as at house shows, and their live performances are renowned.

Their debut album, "We Choose Pretty Names", captures the intensity and chaos of their live show and the diversity of their sound, which pushes further to the extremes here than ever before. Running from dreamy loops (“Boyfriend”) through snappy indie-punk (“Questioning”) to all-out-meltdown (“We Choose Pretty Names”), the song writing is increasingly direct and emotional, and the passion and ambition on display in this record sets them apart from their peers.
