DAVID JAMES ALLEN & THE GROWING MACHINE w/ Pascal Desgagne on Pedal Steel THE JUBILATION POTPOURRI ALBUM RELEASE TOUR
With Special Guest SHAWN WILLIAM CLARKE (trio)
David James Allen is a Canadian songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Prince Edward County, Ontario. His fifth full-length album, Jubilation Potpourri, brings together plainspoken songs that blend alt-country, folk, and soul, reflecting working life, love, and the quiet pressures of modern living with a focus on connection, care, and acceptance.
Since relocating to Prince Edward County, Allen has quietly built one of Canada's most consistent independent catalogues, releasing a steady stream of critically acclaimed records including When the Demons Come, Radiations, The Architect, and By the Summertime. His songs balance thoughtful craftsmanship with warmth and spontaneity, prompting Quality Americana to describe By the Summertime as "a throwback to sounds of the 1970s... the instrumentation is carefully planned, yet feels spontaneous."
An independent artist releasing through Littleknown Records, Allen performs across Canada while producing much of his own work from Littleknown Studio. His music has been featured by Americana UK and The Bluegrass Situation, while receiving airplay from SiriusXM North Americana and CBC. Drawing equally from country, folk, soul, and classic singer-songwriters, Allen continues to carve out a distinctive voice rooted in honest storytelling, lived experience, and songs that find beauty in ordinary lives.
SHAWN WILLIAM CLARKE
Shawn William Clarke pens warm indie folk songs, marrying narrative songwriting with innovative arrangements. Shawn has toured most of Canada & Europe including his favourite destination, Iceland, where he performed at the Melodica and Iceland Airwaves festivals.
Shawn spent his Covid years watching Italian horror films, knitting, releasing homemade music on cassette, and humbly discovering his Métis heritage. Clarke recently released his latest full length studio album Softer Scissors, a collage of various sonic influences — from the ‘60s singer-songwriter tradition of Simon and Garfunkel, to the eclectic experimentation of Wilco, to rock energy of Sloan, Softer Scissors is sewn together by Clarke's rich story-telling and winding melodies.
