Born in Papua New Guinea and writing songs since the age of three, Danny has an entertaining and inspiring story to tell, through his unique songs. From bottle-smashing riots in Belfast bars to two-finger applause in Oxfordshire's theatres, Danny has performed to divers audiences, because his genre-defying music appeals to all kinds of folk. "I make people's music," he says, "which is perhaps what folk music was originally all about." Outline magazine describes his songs as "dynamic, unpredictable and lyrical… organic and ancient". His original songs reveal a rich repertoire of styles and sentiments and his poetic care and inventiveness set him apart from other singer-songwriters. Danny performs alone and with his band, Echoes in the Well, across England and abroad. In either format, his music may move you to tears, may encourage you to stand up tall and be counted, may get you thinking and may have you whistling days later. You will never know what may happen if you encounter the music of Danny Whitehouse unless you see him for yourself.
