City Calm Down is a four-piece alternative-pop band, which formed in Melbourne, Australia in 2008. In 2010, the band released its debut self-titled EP and, in 2012, signed with highly regarded Australian label I Oh You records and released a second EP, titled Movements. Movements received strong radio play through Australian national broadcaster Triple J and local community radio stations and allowed the band to tour Australia with international acts Alt-J, Chvrches, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and Bombay Bicycle Club, which further increased the band’s national profile.
In November 2015, the band released its debut LP ‘In A Restless House’, which was Triple J’s Feature Album on the week of its release. The album received significant critical praise domestically, while tracks Rabbit Run, Son and Wandering were featured internationally by NME, Consequence of Sound and Stereogum.

‘Introspection and elation still tussle, but self-assuredness is what marks this impressive rebirth...★★★★’ – Rolling Stone Australia
‘It’s a wide-eyed beginning, earnest and capacious in sound and it’s refreshing to hear such overt ambition countering the hipper-than-thou minimalist aesthetic of their contemporaries. Never underestimate how difficult it is to construct really good pop music…8/10’ – Fasterlouder
