"Calva Louise is best described as a free spirit" - When The Horn Blows.
The Manchester based band has created a genre defying burst of energy and imagination that joins the dots between indie, punk-rock and electronica.
Jess, Alizon and Ben formed Calva Louise in London in 2016, and got to work developing a sound that is entirely their own, blending eye watering aggression and stadium ready anthems with ambitious songwriting and outright hooks.
It’s telling that a band comprised of such eclectic nationalities (Venezuelan, French and English/New Zealander), are influenced as much by British and Latin Rock as they are by bands like Queens of the Stone Age.
They performed sold out concerts across the UK and EU, and supported world-class artists like Highly Suspect, Razorlight and Albert Hammond Jr.
Calva Louise singles found heavy rotation across BBC Radio 1 (Annie Mac, Huw Stephens, Jack Saunders and Abbie McCarthy), BBC6 Music (Lauren Laverne, Steve Lamacq, Shaun Keaveny and the legendary Iggy Pop) and playlisting across Radio X, Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer, as well as live sessions at BBC Maida Vale Studios and X-posure with John Kennedy. The EP POPURRÍ was independently released on July 31st 2020, containing CAMINO, POP and I WISH.
The new single TRIAL out on the 16th of October is their first release since the band recently signed with the American label FRKST, an imprint of 300 Ent. run by Johnny Stevens, Highly Suspect frontman.
