Heralded as a remarkable live band, debut album TX Jelly was widely praised on its release via New West Records in late 2017, with Uncut making it Americana Album of the Month and 4* reviews in Mojo, RNR Magazine, Country Music Magazine and CMP. The Sunday Times described the album as “The perfect soundtrack for an imaginary drive across the Lone-star state”.

Originally assembled as an all-purpose backing band, The Texas Gentlemen quickly became the go-to group of players for an eclectic array of artists including Leon Bridges, Nikki Lane, Shakey Graves, Matthew Logan Vasquez of Delta Spirit, Jack Ingram, Terry Allen, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Ray Benson, Joe Ely (who described them as “the best backing band I have ever played with. Seriously.”) and many more. Last year, their performance with Kris Kristofferson was one of the “most exciting sets” at the Newport Folk Festival (Rolling Stone). Kristofferson so enjoyed collaborating with the band that he enlisted them for a series of critically acclaimed Texas concerts.
