'67 Album Review by Welsh Connections

Welsh Connections 24 Ionawr am 11:54 · Album review. Artist : Aled Hughes. Title : ‘67 (2017)

Eighteen tracks (yes, 18 !) and all but one written by Aled and recorded at Cardiff’s Earl Lane Studios by Lynise Esprit (Seafall). There’s nothing wrong with sitting firmly in the middle lane, making music for people of a certain age when it’s done well - and this is ! It’s a great collection of mid-tempo tunes somewhere between pop and soft rock. The playing is faultless and the album rolls along at a pleasant pace but there are few stand out tracks - however when they do come along they are made that much more special. Check out ‘Sweet Mona Lisa’ or ‘Who Is She ?’.
