Line Up

First and foremost False Friends enjoy movies, board games and creating hypotheticals in their living room.

False Friends are a band now nestled calmly in the vibrant music scene of Glasgow, after the majority of the band moved to the city from Northern Ireland. The blend of 5 individual influences has created a unique style which has been described as ‘acoustic meets pop-rock’, ‘orchestral indie pop’ and quite simply - ‘indie-rock’. The band themselves focus on writing catchy hooks and thoughtful lyrics; the genre follows suit.

Formed in 2016, the band released 3 singles in August of that year, with ‘All My Friends’ being premiered by chordblossom.com and named ‘Tune for the Weekend’ by PastieBap.com. ‘Holy Water’ also received airplay from Jim Gellatly on Amazing radio. These singles secured gigs in the famous King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut and Glasgow’s Nice ’N’ Sleazy.

2017 promises to be the start of a hectic year for the band. False Friends have played King Tut’s New Year’s Revolution in January 2017 and have just finished recording their debut EP.

Vinyl Noise have described False Friends as a band ‘taking flight as a soaring new act on Glasgow’s music scene’. Small Music Reviews said their live set consisted of ‘numbers driven by high-octane rhythms, where the bass and drum work excelled, the guitars were great and the ensemble vocals meshed impeccably.’

Adam Ross Greene is a 20 year old Singer Songwriter from Glasgow, Scotland and began emerging on the scene towards the end of 2015. He cites influences from a wide range of artists including The Killers, Walk the Moon, Neil Young and Elvis. Adam's music is a unique brand of indie pop with acoustic driven melodies and hooks. When performing live, the young artist performs both solo with his acoustic guitar, or alongside his session band composed of old band mates from previous projects.

His debut 'Crazy EP' was releasedin May 2016 and was self-released under the artists own Ritzi Records label. During the winter of 2015, he recorded the EP in the comfort of The Soul Kitchen with the help of veteran producer Gordy Goudie of Echo and the Bunnymen and Simple Minds. With Gordy's experience, the pair crafted the young artists’ first venture into recorded music after years of playing in live bands as a drummer.

'Without Saying' was the first single to be released from the EP and debuted in January.

Crazy EP is live now on iTunes, Spotify, amazon and Google Play amongst other stores.

Currently, Adam has revealed he is back in the studio and working on new material, but has yet to announce any other info or release previews to fans. He recently announced he will be supporting Alex Clare at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow on the 29th January as Alex kicks off the European leg of his tour for new album "Tail of Lions".

Hailing from the city of Edinburgh, OceanCode is a four piece folk pop band who started piecing together their sound in late 2016. Wanting to take her music in a different direction, Ruth Gillies looked to start a band and realise her music with a full outfit behind it. This came in the form of three close university friends: Toni McVey, Morgan Smith and Peter Wall.
