Yes Sir Boss!!! formed in 2004 whist studying for Music degrees at Dartington College of Arts. Originally a four-piece called Sellors and the Scientists the band played a mixture of Blues and Jazz with reggae undertones. Fronted by the gruff but coy Matt Sellors the boy’s built up local recognition and the beginnings of a dedicated fan base in the South West.

New members joined starting with rock/blues guitarist Luke Potter. The band went under further re-construction when funk bassist Josh Stopford joined in the absence of the original bassist, Leon Boydon. With the original drummer leaving to become a doctor the boys took on Lewis Fitz-john, a quirky electro composer who had studied music alongside Josh in 2002 and just happened to play the drums. With this new and ballsy line up the band embarked on a mini tour of England in the summer of 2006. Soon after returning, Jehan Abdel-Malak, a jazz/funk saxophonist was asked to feature on the bands first E.P ‘Yes Sir Boss!!!’ She soon became a full time member and finally, with one part lady, the current line up was complete. 1000 copies of the E.P were independently sold and distributed and in 2007 they returned to the studio to record 3 more tracks for a demo.

After finally graduating the name changed to the title of their first E.P and Yes Sir Boss!!! entered their current and conclusive incarnation. They soon found themselves supporting Joss Stone at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam and London’s IngigO2 as well as playing Glastonbury, Oceanfest and The Maker Festival in Devon.

Now living together in Bristol nearer their manager Elwynne Green of PowerAmp Music, preparations are being made to record their debut album and a summer tour is being booked with the help of Krishna Quarrell of Bristol’s most loved band Babyhead.
This summer will be a busy one for Yes Sir Boss!!! With four confirmed Glastonbury slots including The Pussy Parlor and Backstage Jazz World, and an evening slot at Croydes Goldcoast Oceanfest (last year they played at noon!) the band look set to spend the summer months in their beloved yellow VW camper ‘Yes Sir Bus’ exploring the UK’s festivals and doing what they do best.

It is an exiting time for Yes Sir Boss!!! Their style is original and unrivalled. Their determination to play their music to the masses is potent and their new songs are capturing Bristol’s imagination.
