In early 2008, former Silent Civilian guitarist Dave Delacruz joined forces with vocalist Mark Haggblad. Soon after they recruited long time friend and musician Sam Hutchinson. The three began a search for the remaining members and found guitarist Nita Strauss and drummer Mark Matas.

Together they began to create music that strays away from the typical modern-day metal genre. Something that can appeal to  everyone. That collaboration became UNVEIL THE STRENGTH. To describe how the band feels about their music, vocalist Mark Haggblad says: "We feel that the music we create together has been some of the best we have ever personally written. To have musicians that all want the same thing is just unreal. There's no room for ego. It's definitely something you don't find too often these days."

In 2010 UNVEIL THE STRENGTH decided that it was time to awaken the sleeping giant from hibernation. Brutal, intense, melodic, and catchy are just a few words to describe their debut EP, The Awakening. Every song tells a story and takes a journey of its own that creates the unique "UNVEIL THE STRENGTH" sound. The Awakening is a message  that no great achievement in life can come without  sacrifice.
