Toxins formed in Hemel Hempstead in late 2007, inspired by all sorts of grunge, punk, metal, hardcore and pop influences and angry sentiments to create a trashy and heady but melodic fusion of all the above. 2008 saw an intense and hectic 'mini-tour of London' as well as regular local gigging in sought after Hertfordshire venues, followed by the recording of 6 track EP "Beautiful Democracy" which soon became popular among faithful fans, who, in turn, helped Toxins round off the year with a raucous appearance in the final of local hot spot The Horn's Battle of the Bands competition. (sponsored by Relentless). 2009 saw a closer-to-home approach with gigging. Becoming something of a regular fixture @ The Horn, St. Albans with showcases and support slots for The Scratch and Clint Boon, Toxins also had a few goes at rocking out the Flag, Watford as well as returning to London venues that had served them well previously. During this time, work began on 2nd record, "2 Many Humans" whilst "Beautiful Democracy" went on sale as an mp3 download on iTunes and other leading sites. Recording and mixing of "2 Many Humans" was complete by the end of the year and released for download in February 2010 with obligatory CD copies given out to fans at gigs. Seen by many as a slightly heavier and more complex take on their earlier punkier style. 2010 also saw Toxins storm into new London and Hertfordshire venues in their continuous quest to burn hearts and melt faces, rounding off the year as headliners at Amnesty International benefit gig "The Sound of Rights" Check out Toxins here and on all other net-works to find all the news on goings-on, upcoming gig dates and future tracks/recordings... the more the merrier and you are their inspiration!
