Forming in 2005 from the ashes of previous bands, the core of Third Light has been together writing music for several years now.
In 2006, one of the bands tracks, "Gone Too Long", was used on a Barclays Premier League advert that aired on BBC World and again in early 2007, for the launch of the Popworld Pulp magazine.

They recorded their first EP, "Iodine", in July 2007 and are currently producing their debut album, "Built By Machines", in which the lines drawn between apocalyptic post-rock and classic pop songwriting are brazenly stomped upon. Its expected release date is mid-2009 and is being entirely self-engineered, produced, mixed, and released by the band. First single from the album, "Leaders And Followers" demonstrates their ability to not only write superb pop/rock music, but to produce it expertly as well.
DJ Wallis, vocalist and guitarist, possesses a gift for memorable melodies and anthems; lead guitarist and producer of all the band's recordings, Mike Payne, has a penchant for unique guitar sounds; Mark Dainty and Martin Bell on drums and bass respectively complete the line-up.
The most common praise Third Light receive is the tightness and the energy they have in their live performances; something that they manage to capture effortlessly in their studio recordings as well.
"... A great live band... [they] galloped through the setlist with the enthusiasm of a hurricane...and the passion for their own music filled the room. ‘Leaders and Followers’ is a classic anthem in the making. Third Light are clearly going places... Highly recommended live." - Kim Sklinar, allgigs.co.uk
"... intense and soaring with no sense of predictability." - Mike Patterson, Fair Play Gigs
"[An] alleviating journey ... in a bid to uplift the masses. And I don't doubt they'll succeed, either." - Andy Carrington, ataraxia
"A shuddering wall of dramatic rock-pop energy, replete with epic anthems and hooks and effects-laden solar rhythms, built for stadiums, not pubs; and for digital radio, not demos sold on the door." - The Macchiato Kid
