Thief is the electronic pop brainchild of PJ Wolf, who traded in his guitars for synthesizers, crafting a fresh minimalist sound that would embrace the aesthetic of contemporaries such as Metronomy, Miike Snow, Frank Ocean and N.E.R.D.
Thief has garnered significant support for his debut single ‘Broken Boy’ and ‘Closer’ EP from key blog tastemakers such as Neon Gold, ATG, Kick Kick Snare, Earmilk and Indieshuffle, achieving multiple TOP 5 Hype Machine charts. He has achieved radio play on Radio 1 and XFM in the UK alongside KEXP & KCRW in the US and Triple J in Australia.
There has been significant UK press support from the like of The Guardians Paul Lester, The Line Of Best Fit, This is Fake DIY and Musicweek Playlist.
2014 has seen Thief in the US for SXSW in March, an April headline tour in Australia, followed by a string of dates in the UK at The Great Escape and a sold out EP Launch at The Seabright Arms in London. Most recently he attended CMJ in October garnering huge praise from all who saw him play, with his showcase at Neon Gold’s New Shapes party a key highlight.
