The Winter Club is a Brighton-based all female threepiece who have been playing together since February 2006, when they cobbled together a few covers to play at a 50th birthday celebration. They had too much fun to leave it there, so continued writing original material and had their first gig in December 2006. Since then, they have gone to strength to strength as a live act with accomplished gigs for London's Twee As F*** and Brighton ArtRocker.
TWC is a democracy made up of Alix on guitar, tambourine, book-reading and vocals, Jennie on keyboard, guitar, flute, stylophone and vocals, and Alison on bass and vocals, with guest beats from the drum machine. They are inspired by their home towns and formative years, a pro-feminist worldview, dancing and wearing appropriate clothing in all weathers.
