The Rivers Presley Set
Hailing from Birmingham, England and channeling bluesmen infinitely older than his 22 years, Rivers Presley's music echoes the demons of Son House & Model T Ford if they were bought up on a diet of Mark lanegan and The Black Keys.
Joined on stage by drummer Thomas Henry their live presence switches between swollen slide guitar licks and pin drop silences which leave crowds staggered. Recent devotees Black Diamond Heavies, after catching The Rivers Presley Set live on a trip to the UK, were so impressed that they asked the guys to join them on the US leg of their tour.
Review – The Fly
"The Rivers Presley Set don’t give two fucks for your comfort as their bluesey sex hunger charges the previously sedate audience. Going through a dry spell? Take your partner to one of these gigs and you’ll be spending a wet weekend in doors, guaranteed. ....
.. ..
Rivers himself roars like a nimphomanic Kurt Cobain as his guitar growls with quiver inducing bass while Thomas Henry’s primal thuds rampantly append the eroticized atmosphere. ....
.. ..
It’s pure filth and should definitely not be allowed to be performed on a Sunday. It’s the beastly sound of being drunk on whiskey and fucking both the vicar’s virgin daughters in a graveyard under a full moon"
