The Knutsens
are an indie/rock/electro band based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK, performing short and catchy songs that people can both singalong and dance to.

About the band:

Rock energy coexisting with bittersweet manifestos of life, ambition, love; keyboard electronics, rumbling groove-funk bass lines and thunderous rhythms brought back in with upbeat panache. This is The Knutsens.

Based in Newcastle, England, The Knutsens were formed in 2007 when singer Dan Gooch left his home county of Lincolnshire to head North with the aim of finding like-minded souls to conquer the world. Soon afterwards hooking up with lead guitarist Dylan James they began to craft Dan's existing songs into a complete band sound. Bassist Jeet Varia completed the line-up later in the year and brought his diverse range of influences into the mix, adding an extra dimension to the songs.

Playing their first gig in December 2007 their original drummer left soon after to return to her home planet, so the hunt was on to find a suitable replacement. Up stepped Neil Hutchinson to bring his patented blend of technicality, studiousness and all-out rock thunder to the group, thus completing the circle.

This brings us to The Knutsens of today, the resulting fusion of the various member's influences creating a varied sound ranging from powerful rock anthems to upbeat pop melodies via some decidedly retro keyboard-driven songs.

With their sound polished but ever-developing, their live presence established, and commitment to entertain unquestioned, The Knutsens have arrived.
