The Karma Farmers began in 2002 in Battersea South London when the Ramsman roped his high school comrade DS Gibson into helping him build a studio. They were both from the Berrima region of N.S.W Australia, which is sometimes regarded as one of the key creative hubs of the Australian music scene. Upon completion of the studio it was necessary to thoroughly test it in an operational capacity. Within moments of powering up the system they penned the classics ‘Enlighten The Mind’, ‘Peace Not Blood’, and the epic jazz odyssey ‘Philosophise’. Also in London at the time was another Moss Vale High School comrade Loz. Although traditionally known as a centre of excellence for agriculture (since 1963) Moss Vale High School would soon be recognised as one of Australia’s top performing arts schools. DS wanted Loz to join The Farmers to bring his deep groovy bass lines into the line-up. The Ramsman vetoed the proposal as he felt that Loz hadn’t experienced enough personal trauma to experience the dark side of the force. Ramsman felt one must first have seen the dark side of the force before one could stay away from it for eternity and keep the positive vibes flowing. This dispute caused a rift in the force and after penning their next tune ‘Berrima Girls’ (en homage to DS’s girlfriend at the time) it was clear the magic had gone. DS a devout pacifist (also pan-pacific amateur grappling champion) and socialist was then lured by the capitalist rewards that the Melbourne underground poetry scene had to offer and left the ailing project to pursue his grandiose dreams of success. Years later in 2008, as if by divine intervention, all three comrades would be back in the Berrima district. DS had achieved fame and fortune on the underground poetry scene and was looking for sound investment opportunities in the entertainment industry to secure his future. Loz had recently farmed enough karma to return from the dark side after a long and tormenting divorce. The Ramsman returned from South London to broaden his horizons and to toughen his sound by submersing himself in the Berrima underground scene. ---------------------- And Together They Will SAVE THE FUCKIN WORLD !!!!
