Music Glue - The Band Is The Brand

The Federals

James Feakes (vocals/guitar), Jack Jewers (bass), and Jack Holdstock (drums) pump out a hurricane of fuzzed-up guitar, battered-to-death drums and a howling vocal that would put the Baskervilles pooch to shame, this is the sound of The Federals. The boys met at school and had a shared love for The Stooges, BRMC and Jack White, they threw all these influences into the melting pot and on a summers day in 2008 out came The Federals. Before the year's end, the British three piece had recorded an EP with producer Zane Keenan which is now available to buy on their website. A UK tour with Joe Lean and The Jing Jang Jong followed and to top it all off Steve Lamacq gave the band’s debut his record of the week accolade.

Summer 2009 saw the band supporting Team Waterpolo, Nine Black Alps and opening The Lovebox Festival in London’s Victoria Park.

The Federals’ debut album, so far untitled, will be finished in January 2010.

Martin Cordiner, The Fly

“If fuzzed-up garage is your bag then you are in for a treat. You will struggle to find any group as fuzzed up as THE FEDERALS.”
Phil Istine, Shindig Magazine

"If this evil narco drone rock don't get you off, brothers and sisters, nothing will."
Paul Lowman, The Talk Magazine

"We had some of the northern contingent in with THE FEDERALS from York, soon to go Gobal. Young / Sexy / COOL AND VERY FUCKING LOUD.
