The DoLittles are a progressive/alt-rock band currently based in Taiwan. The nucleus for the band was formed in the spring of 2006 when Changhua-based English teacher Andy Goode hooked up with Taichung-based session drummer A-Bang Yo. Dave Shaw, a guitarist-turned-bassist, then joined up, and the line-up was completed by the addition of Gareth Bond on lead guitar in the summer of 2006. Two highly acclaimed gigs at The Grooveyard, Taichung's premier live music venue, quickly followed. Andy, A-Bang, and Dave then spent some time in the studio recording "Talk to This," the band's 5-track debut EP CD.
After a three month hiatus in the fall/winter of 2006, the DoLittles played numerous gigs at the Grooveyard and Groovecity in Taichung, followed by their break-out show at Spring Scream in Kending in April, 2007. The DoLittles spent 2007 expanding their fan base and their geographic coverage, playing solo and group gigs in Taichung, Chiayi, Yuanlin, Taipei, and a weekend in Seoul, South Korea. The band went back into the studio in late summer of 2007 to record their second EP CD, "The DoLittles."
Following the Seoul weekend and the subsequent Taipei gig, Chris Robison, formerly of the Changhua band The Idiots, replaced Gareth Bond on lead guitar. Chris, with his energy and stage presence, helped kick The DoLittles up a notch, giving the band a musical coherence that makes DoLittles gigs even more impressive than ever.
In May 2008 the band returned to the studio to start work on their third CD, the 6-track EP "The Domino Effect." The band played their socks off in June and July, and the EP was launched on August 2nd 2008.
In October 2008 the bands were runners up for ICRT radio station national battle of the bands in Taipei, Taiwan.
In April 2009 The DoLittles once again played Spring Scream Festival in Kenting, and showcased a batch of newer, stronger songs. Dave left the band (and the country) at the end of April, and Abang quit soon after. Tom Squires (formerly of 'Public Radio' fame) replaced Dave on bass, and Kyle Bajcer from Taipei's 'New Hong Kong Hair City' replaced Abang. On May 29th 2009 they played their first headline slot at 'River Bash' Festival in Pinglin, Taipei. Since then they have been busy building their fan bases in Taichung and Taipei.
The band are currently mastering their first full length 9-track LP 'Earthquakes', which will be released in March 2010 to coincide with a mini-tour across Tawian.
The DoLittles maintain an official website at www.thedolittles.com, and a fan club group on Facebook ("The DoLittles Fanclub"). Show and news updates are available on MySpace, through Facebook, and via email. "Talk to This," "The DoLittles" EP, "The Domino Effect" and "Earthuakes" CDs are available at all DoLittles gigs, and are also available by contacting the band through MySpace, email at thedolittles@hotmail.com, or by calling the manage Rachel on (0930) 207706.
