•The Very Beginning

•Burnham-on-sea, Somerset, Little Mitch sits contemplating his next move within the deep underground music scene that is gorgon Zola, his musical background that of a pantomime horses (backend), agrees to sing lead vocals for a local Ska muso Chris Simpson’s covers band.

• In Short the story goes as follows,

(CS)  Wanna be in my band? (MJ) Yeah cool (CS) great do you know a drummer (MJ) yeah I do (CS) great we rehearse next Sun!

Wednesday – (CS) Chris here, do you know a keyboard player and some Brass players? (MJ) Yeah I do (CS) Great we rehearse Sunday!

Friday (CS) Chris here, I don’t spose you know a bass player do you, ours just quit! (MJ) Yeah I do (CS) Great see ya Sunday.

 Sunday –Rehearsal goes great! …………..Except the fact Chris runs into some bother with locals and leaves through a window part way through (fag still lit and burning on his amp)

 Phone goes, (CS) Chris here, I can do it anymore mate, you’ll have to get a guitarist in, send me gear on to me!

Mitch gets Guitarist in!!!!

Important dates in Comms history

•September 2007 – The Communicators 1st line up is born

 The 1st line up of The Communicators is born and takes to the stage at the most unlikely venue….a Village Hall in the deepest South  for a private party – Rock n roll ehh!!

 Memories of the gig – Having to put 50 pence in the electric meter half way through Little Bitch! The band performs such songs as The Prince, Feel like Jumping, Tom Hark and Lip up fatty! The next night they perform to a sell-out crowd at The Railway Inn (Burnham-on-sea)

•June 2008- The Communicators are booked for The Bird Man festival at Ilfracoombe!

Memories – being shown the hospitality tent at 10 in the morning when not on stage til 6! Inviting the whole of Ilfracoombe back to the bands hotel for drinks, and them coming! The writing of our first original tune – Bangin on the wall!

•Sept 2008 - The Communicators are approached to sign to Moon Ska World!

 The Communicators turn the deal down with Moon Ska in order to release their debut album ‘Care in The Communicators’ on Loony Fish Records

•June 2009 - The Communicators headline the Crossaint Neuf stage at Glastonbury Festival

The Comms play to a packed Glasto crowd and fulfil a life time ambition!

•July 2009 - The Communicators play at The Specials after show party in Brixton

The Comms play to a packed out room Specials and fans alike attend, Comms blow the lid off!

•July 2010 - The Communicators perform at The Boomtown Festival

The Comms perform with The Beat, Neville Staple and Toots to name a few at this amazing festival

•March 2011 - A new Communicators is born, all original material is now the order of the day!

All original material is now being played at Comms gigs (with a few of our fav tracks thrown in of course!)

•July 2011 -The Communicators perform at WOMAD Festival
