Music Glue - The Band Is The Brand

Taryn Murphy

Taryn Murphy is a successful songwriter, music artist and vocal producer.

Literally born into the world of music, Taryn has been comfortable behind the microphone for as long as she can remember. Her father James, a talented local musician, owned and operated one of the only recording studios within 100 miles of their hometown of Northport Washington. A Mecca for musicians and fertile ground for young talent to grow.

Her first recording session was at the age of 8 followed by a win at a local talent contest at age 9 which she jokes was, "The easiest money I ever made in this business!" By 11 she was writing her own songs and fronting the all-family band, The Murphy's. This resulted in 7 years on the road touring the Western U.S. & Canada performing an estimated 1500 shows, and recording a total of 5 albums, all before the age of 18.

"People tease that we were like the Partridge Family which I guess is pretty accurate. It was a great way to grow up though. 6 of us living in a Winnebago, home schooled, spending our days and nights playing music. How cool is that?"

Currently running her own studio and production company out of Nashville, TN, Taryn can be heard contributing vocals to numerous projects worldwide. Her songwriting career is thriving with a string of International releases and hit singles. Most notably the massive success of Billboard #1, “Almost Sorry/Zachem Pridumali Lubov” by Russian pop star Sergey Lazarev, #1 smash, “Smile” by Ani Lorak, and the upcoming release of “Never Let It Go” by 2008 Pop Idol winner Nikki Kerkhof.

Licensing credits include placements on nearly all major networks in shows such as; "Prison Break" (Fox) "Masters Of Horror" (Showtime) "The Jamie Kennedy Show" (MTV) and the new, "Melrose Place” as well as 3 feature films, "Wisegirls" (Starring Mariah Carey & Mira Sorvino) the upcoming Australian thriller, "A Perfect Life" and recent blockbuster, "Burn After Reading".
