If an early 90s punk band became an Acoustic Americana duo...
Described in the press as 'the real deal...with a well crafted set of original songs that are totally contemporary but could pass for 1957 or 47', Steamtown are a duo from Knaresborough with a guitar, a Banjo and a suitcase singing about true love, hard drinking, politics and trains. This is Yorkshire Americana delivered with a smile and acoustic music to make you tap your feet.
Steamtown released their first album in November 2017, and have had songs from the album played on BBC introducing and local folk and Americana radio shows.
Their second album Bad Habits is out now.
“Musically there is a mix of traditional and modern folk containing some exceptional storytelling….. If you like your music with a genuine folk club feel to it and with lyrics that will make you both evaluate life and smile, then this album is for you.” -Fatea Magazine review
