A Pocketful of Stars are a duo of sisters who have been playing, writing and performing music together since their early childhood in 2001. 10 years later accompanied by a ‘80s Yamaha keyboard, looking out across the moon and starlit Dorset coastline, the duet created the song Let Go.

2012 spun A Pocketful of Stars into the universe of live music. The pop rock group performed at various music festivals, playing to crowds of 200+ people, including Box Rocks and Box Hen Fest in Wiltshire, UK (2012-2013) and supported the alternative post-hardcore band Stereo Espionage.

Over the last three years, A Pocketful of Stars have been writing, rehearsing and recording over a hundred original songs, remixes, covers and creative ideas to put towards future releases and tours.

2016 now brings the pop punk indie pop duet to the release of their debut live and acoustic EP – Everything We've Ever Known scheduled for distribution via Shipwreck Records on 8th July 2016. The two sisters will be touring the UK this summer to follow up from their launch show at The Marrs Bar in Worcester on 25th May and joint show at Corsham Fete on 11th June 2016 with Stay Hungry and Kyle Music.

You can check out a new music video and live performance from the upcoming EP on the official A Pocketful of Stars YouTube every Friday at 11:11pm.

Live and Acoustic performances at The Marrs Bar of three songs from the upcoming 7-track Everything We've Ever Known EP are also available to stream on YouTube.

Dates, venues, tickets and more information will all be available online over the coming months.

About

Epic tales and fantasy told through colourful pop punk music in a cute and candid way. A Pocketful of Stars mix vocal styles and pop dance vibes of Taylor Swift and Avril Lavigne and combine these with the energy of their favourite bands including Four Year Strong and Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! Whilst hanging onto the acoustic-electronica delicacy of acts they aspire to such as LIGHTS, Owl City and Purity Ring.

Influences

Defining themselves through a blend of pop punk and electronic pop, the young female duet are also heavily influenced by easycore and post-hardcore rock alongside acoustic, electronic, dance and pop music from all over the world. Some of the bands’ diverse influences include ‘90s-early 2000s female fronted pop-rock (S Club 7, P!nk, Sheryl Crow, Catatonia and The Corrs), power pop from the same era (Simple Plan, Blink-182 and The all-American Rejects), Japanese pop and electronic dance music (Perfume, YUI, CHARA) and 8bit music created and distributed by online communities.
