Sheila Shy is a 17 year old Fillipino singer/songwriter from Southend in Essex.  At the start of June 2008, her band SHEILA AND THE SHY were selected from over 2000 unsigned artists to perform at a summer festival along with The Enemy, The Cribs, The Wombats, Does It Offend You Yeah?, Joe Lean And The Jin Jan Jong, Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip and get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly.
 
When they returned from the festival, Sheila discovered she had been lucky enough to have been chosen to be one of the subjects of a year long documentary made by Channel 4 and MySpace called YEAR DOT.

For one year, Sheila and her band will be filmed as they rehearse, gig and record. For 365 days, the real life drama of all the ups and downs of life in a band trying to carve out a career in music will documented and screened via TV and the Internet.
