Penny Broadhurst & The Maffickers believe in hooks, harmonies, passion and pop. Mafficking means to celebrate riotously. Are you a Mafficker?
Penny and the band have played Wireless, Indietracks, Latitude, Truck, Moor Music, Solfest, Ladyfest and Glastonbury festivals and been played on BBC Radio 1, Xfm, BBC 6 Music, Dandelion Radio, Radio Magnetic etc as well as local and internet radio stations. They have supported the likes of Patrick Wolf, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, The Chapman Family, Sky Larkin, Wintermute, Melt Banana... Penny was shortlisted by the BBC World Service for their Next Big Thing and the Guardian wrote an introducing sort of piece about her when she only had about three songs, which got some things wrong but was still very nice. There's been a bit of blog excitement about the band too, which is always fun, especially when they come up with ever more thrilling Penny puns.
Penny Broadhurst & The Maffickers are available for records, gigs and picnics. Hurray!
