Palefighter is the solo project of singer/songwriter Matthew Carano that begin in the summer of 2005. As a songwriter, Matthew writes deeply personal, intimate music that describes relationships mostly, but not in a trite way. As everything we engage is a relationship, be it a city, a book, or a human, so can it be a topic for artistic exploration.

Matthew explores his songs to their natural sonic conclusion. He writes acoustic, but records electric with drums and keys and harmonies. On CD or MP3, Palefighter is both a band and a man. On stage, Palefighter is a band within a man.

If Palefighter were to play Buckley, Wainwright, Radiohead, The Beatles, Cat Stevens, Paul Simon, Led Zeppelin, Peter Gabriel and The Screen all in the same set, it would sound symbiotic with his originals.

Matthew is a multi-instrumentalist. He has sung his entire life, is classically trained on the clarinet, plays guitar and piano, makes beats, records, reads music, knows theory, conducts, teaches and trips the light fantastic. Palefighter is a pallet for Matthew Carano the artist.
