Mayqueen are a 5 piece, classic/hard rock band, with influences such as the mighty Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Hendrix, Jet, Powderfinger and Kings of Leon, who are all about rocking out with strong vocals, powerful riffs and screaming solos.

In late 2007, the skeleton of Mayqueen formed when guitarists Jack Cunningham, Jasper Morris and bass player Alex Looker came together to play a small blues gig. With the addition of vocalist and front man Trevor Griffin and powerhouse drummer Alex Upton in late 2008 and recently new bass player, Aidan "Jazzy" Jones in September 2009, Mayqueen have set themselves up for a very positive and bright future.

So far 2009 has been all about constant rehearsing, playing live, recording and writing for Mayqueen. Hard work mixed with a lot of fun has seen the recording and producing of their independent debut CD ‘Gotta Get Out', which is now available for purchase at shows and selected record stores.
The 7 track recording will be officially launched in early 2010.

Mayqueen have blown crowds away with their well structured songs, heavy guitar riffs, powerful vocals and lyrics and strong rhythm section. 2009 has seen successful gigs at venues such as, The Bull & Bear, the Crown and Anchor, Live on Light Square, Shotz, Jade Monkey, Higher Ground, Jetty Bar, Enigma Bar, The S-Bar and critically acclaimed local music festival, Scorcherfest.

With plans to head on a tour interstate in early 2010 and loads of local shows lined up, Mayqueen are set to rock the socks off all Australian music lovers!
