Lo-Fi Lung made great progress in 09. The release of their 4th EP led to appearances at many festivals including Wickerman and Solfest. A successful tour supporting their single ‘Outshine the Moon’ took place in August and they have just completed another successful tour promoting the release of their debut album in February of this year.
The single and album have been recorded and produced by Mark Joy who has mastered established acts such as Oasis, Primal Scream and Will Young and who is currently developing up and coming new ‘buzzing’ acts such as David Gibb, Tim and Sam and the Loose Kites.
Lo-Fi Lung was formed in August 2007 by two Derbyshire musicians: Chris Harding and Julian Butt. Together they developed their own eclectic mix of electro/acoustica. In 2008 they were joined by Eve Morris and Loz Shaw to expand and develop their live sound. Live the band play a variety of instruments including accordion, acoustic guitars, flute, cajon, moog synths, percussion and a spinning pink tube.
The diverse nature of their influences and broad musical experience has culminated into what has been described as “a unique broadly ambient acoustic driven sound.” Their catchy pop/folk tunes influenced by natural and environmental themes have generated enthusiastic audience responses whenever they have played.
Throughout 2010 Lo-Fi Lung will be planning to continue touring to promote their debut album and intend to maintain the momentum of their live success and continue gigging and recording throughout next year.
