Lasearus was formed in 2006 by Mike Peiling, Jack Hardwood, Alex Gilroy, Chris Picking and James Lathwood. Mike and Alex had known each other since secondary school and it was in their final year of high school that they decided to form a band. Mike and Alex met Chris and Jack at a Metallica Concert in late 2005, and from there the four started jamming and writing material, It was only after James started going out with Chris's sister that the band found their vocalist and Lasearus took shape. Lasearus took to serious rehearsals for about seven months before finally playing their first gig at "THE TAVERN" in West Durham, to about 50 people. The Setlist that day included covers by bands such as Dream Theater and Metallica. After that first gig the band proceeded  to play a further 70 shows in 7 months until taking a short break to record their first demo cd entitled "Crushing" which features the classics Headbang and Sex-Type Mosh. After a further 6 month stretch of the Uk and Europe , Lasearus were finally signed to NuclearFushion an indie metal label. The band then retreated into the shadows for 2 months to record their debut album Lasearus which was relased on the 1st January 2008, this was then followed by a 7 month tour opening for Muthas, followed by another 2 month tour opening for Kamelot, followed by a recently concluded 2 year tour opening for K££N,.

Plans for a new album are in the works.
