20 year old Sydney based singer/songwriter Jack Carty started his musical career in the sleepy coastal town of Bellingen NSW. This cruisy lifestyle and seaside upbringing has made its mark in Jack's musical style, from gentle guitar ballads to the catchiest of pop rock. The upcoming seven track mini album ‘I Am an Outline' is Jack's second studio project to date, following on from 2005's five track E.P "Late Nights and Early Warnings." According to Jack the making of the two records couldn't have been more different.
"'I Am An Outline' was tracked in a number of rooms and studio's in both Sydney and Bellingen over a year long period, leaving great space for developing the sound. Our last recording was done in the space of one week holed up in a small studio at the back of the Thora Valley!"
As Jack states, this shows up the changes that can take place in a person over a year.
"As cliché as it sounds I feel like this record sums up the last year for me. On 4 of the 7 tracks I'm playing all the instruments, sometimes because they were recorded on a whim in the middle of nowhere, with no band around...I like it like that, it's personal! On the live front, along came the band to literally bring the party to the personal."
Since the release of "Late Nights...." Jack has been playing regularly around Sydney and the Mid North Coast, both as a solo artist and with his band "The Party", pporting artists such as Paul Mac, Tim Freedman, Charlton Hill, Something With Numbers, The Lee's, Paul Greene and John Foreman.
Jack Carty And The Party are just that. Catch them while you can.
