Bounding out of Connah's Quay in North Wales is highly talented Dance/Rock duo I Am Austin.
Otherwise known as duo David Mitchell and Adam Hughes, I Am Austin blend an infectious mix of alternative drum & bass and electro wizardry to create a mind-bending ear piercing sonic musical soundscape.
Having released their highly acclaimed first EP 'Sounds Like Leather' in 2008, I Am Austin are about to release their follow up EP soon, entitled 'Sounds Like Filth' it takes the band forward and highlights their technical development since their debut EP. Not used to hanging around, the band are also set to record their full length debut album later in 2010.
With a ferociously growing fanbase, I Am Austin have played venues in military style across Manchester, Leeds, Bangor, Hereford, Cardiff and Birmingham, supporting top indie bands; Dananananaykroyd, Casio Kids, Das Wanderlust, James Yuill, and Cage The Elephant. The band have also blasted festivals across Europe during the long summers with gigs at the Dockville Festival in Hamburg & the C/O POP festival in Cologne.
More recently I Am Austin supported The Noisettes after beating stiff competition to open up their completely sold out Manchester Ritz date. Plus only days later I Am Austin headlined Chester's OXJAM 2009 event which was a great success and saw them blow away the crowd!
Having rocked InTheCity2008, they were asked back again for InTheCity2009 and didn't disappoint with their sets blowing the roof of 'In The Mill' and 'Scruff of The Neck' events. Next year is set to explode for I Am Austin and in the new edition of Festival Guide, I Am Austin are rated as one of the top 10 bands to look out for in 2010. You have been warned, don't miss them!!!
