COUNTRY IN THE AFTERNOON

SATURDAY 18TH & SUNDAY 19TH MAY 2024

Country In The Afternoon returns on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May for its tenth edition with an international line-up that will provide a wide variety of country and americana music over the two afternoons.

When four best friends decided to combine their experience of standing ovations at the Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium, a wealth of West End theatres, as well as their history as major label artists with numerous national tours & Radio 2 playlisting under their belts, the results were always going to be exceptional. First Time Flyers are Vicki Manser, Jake Morrell, Poppy Fardell and Tim Prottey-Jones and they have an undeniable ear for feel-good melodies, wrapped in the warmth of four-part harmony. Made up of four lead vocalists and multi-instrumentalists, the band has launched to rave reviews and a busy schedule with a number of new releases in the pipeline.

Two Ways Home are the songwriters Isabella and Lewis Folkner, hailing from Austria and the UK respectively, fusing catchy melodies, rich harmonies, and rocky guitars to create a sound that is a refreshing blend of country, folk, and rock. Over the past years Two Ways Home have established themselves as a firm favourite in the UK country/Americana scene, winning best duo at the 2020 Country Music Spotlight Awards and receiving consecutive BCMA nominations for best band in 2021, 2022 and 2023. For fans of Fleetwood Mac, the Lumineers, and popular TV show "Daisy Jones & The Six," Two Ways Home are on an exhilarating musical evolution.

Ian Flanigan toured the United States for over a decade before settling in his current residence in Nashville TN. Three years of that decade were spent living full time out of a 24’ Winnebago. Originally from Saugerties NY, Ian has a background in country, Americana, and folk; a true troubadour. He is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter with Reviver Publishing. Ian is now beginning his second full length album with Reviver Entertainment Group while working closely with producer Jon Stone (of American Young fame) to create a unique lane in country music.

John Wesley Satterfield has a lifelong passion for music and a deep commitment to serving others. Guided by his father's wisdom, he discovered guitar at the tender age of 12, delving into the iconic songs of the 60s and 70s. Performing his first gigs at 14, he explored punk and lent his voice to cover bands. More recently, collaborating with acclaimed producer Misa Arriaga, known for his work with remarkable country artists like Kacey Musgraves, Willie Nelson, and Ben Haggard, John embarked on a new recording project. Together, they have crafted a collection of songs that he hopes will resonate with country music fans around the world.

Anglo – Austrian duo Two Ways Home are the songwriters Isabella Mariee (Vienna) and Lewis Fowler (Gloucestershire). Opposites attract, which is certainly one of the reasons the pair were first drawn to each other. They may have stark contrast but music has always been their middle ground with their voices blending effortlessly. After their inception in 2014, presenting 3 well received Eps and several standalone singles, they have crafted a sound, which pairs well with artists like Lady Antebellum, The Civil Wars and Mumford and Sons.

Two Ways Home have been featured extensively in print press as well as online and the band have enjoyed radio play across the UK & Europe, toured internationally and have recently finished their first full length Album, which is set to be released on the 28th of February 2020.

2019 was a busy year for Two Ways Home, after returning from their longest tour to date, which entailed: 35 shows with Caffe Nero around the UK, they have been crowned “Artist of the Month”, accumulating more than 120,000 plays. They also finished the soundtrack to an Austrian documentary, which is set to be shown on national Austrian TV early 2020.

2020 looks like an exciting year for the duo and they are hoping to build on their success from past years, which saw them perform at the top of the Shard, headline shows at the prestigious Under the Bridge venue in Chelsea, support several artists in the Country/Americana scene and play some great festivals like: The Long Road and The British Country Music Festival to name a few. The first two singles ‘Speed Of Anything’ and ‘Out on the Road’ from their debut album already surpassed 37,000 streams on Spotify within the first month, growing excitement for their upcoming releases.
