As a four piece, Fires’ music has taken them across the country; cost them jobs, left them sleeping in service stations and cars – all before releasing any music.
Self managed, having spent hard time calling favors, writing emails, employing friends and bending the truth lying through their teeth to promoters and venues, Fires debut EP is due for release late 2011.
Since their 2009 formation, the pop punk quartet have seen numerous lineup changes; though vocalist Sam Booth and drummer Taylor Baron have remained core members.
Along with former bassist John Adam, Fires were formed when the three were snowed into a rehearsal session of Sam’s previous band, whom Taylor was to session for. Colin Russel joined as bassist early 2010, taking the position alongside vocal duties for his previous band Ruins of Earth and allowing John to move to guitar. Guitarist Adam Harness attended the same schools and college as Taylor, but was bought to the band through a mutual friend. John left Fires mid-2011 to focus on work and other projects allowing Sam to return to the guitar and finalize the current lineup.
