The world of classical music has never before known an artist as captivating and imaginative as Diane di Stasio. With her eclectic soprano voice, she unites the Classical world with the world of Popular music, creating her own original style. Her powerful voice resounds from her classical training, while her innovative and unique style adds a soothing, ethereal quality. Drawing from many styles of popular, and Classical music, Diane's sound can only be called... pOpera
Diane grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. After graduating from high school she obtained full scholarships first to the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and then to the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston where she studied classical music. Because of her love for language and foreign culture, Diane sings in English, Italian, French, Spanish, German, Hebrew, Japanese, and Latin.
Diane has graced the stages of the San Francisco Opera, the Los Angeles Music Center, the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, the North Shore Music Theater in Massachusetts, as well as the stages in Turino, Italy; Cannes and Paris France; and Geneva, Switzerland.
Diane was honored to sing at a Presidential Inauguration as well as perform for many high profile multi-artist events in several cities across America. Her voice has been heard in many television commercials including a Super Bowl Ad, for Diet Pepsi, with the legendary Ray Charles.
With her latest project Diane has been able to realize some of her own musical vision and dreams...embracing divergent elements of style from the worlds of pop and opera. "I have always wanted to bridge the gap between two worlds that seem like polar opposites - blending the refined sounds of opera with the street sounds of urban life," says Diane. I love the idea of a pure ethereal vocal line fused with cool rhythms and blended with beautiful, mysterious melodies that weave through the soul."
Diane's timeless and haunting voice indelibly marks all who hear, making her a compelling world- class artist.
