David Gibb is an acoustic artist from Derbyshire whose music has been described as "modern pop-folk that's bright and infectious" (www.toxicpete.co.uk). Growing up firmly attached to the Derby punk scene, David has played and toured with several bands over the years, all of which have been met with varying degrees of success. However, it is only in the last year he has begun to focus seriously on his solo material.
After recently self releasing his debut EP, he set about piecing together a group of close friends to support him on the road as backing musicians. With the band firmly in place he is looking to release a single in the summer of 2008, followed by a UK tour to promote the release.
2008 so far has been exciting year for David, receiving national airplay on BBC Radio 2, as well as live sessions on BBC Radio Derby, and support slots with the likes of Sam Isaac, Situationists and Luke Leighfield.
Things are slowly moving in the right direction for David Gibb, and with a promising consistency in his song writing, and a passion for playing live, he has big plans and high hopes for the coming months.
