From Fruit Farm to Abbey Road Via The Swedish Indie/Folk Scene 

Twilight folktronica tinged artist Dan Clews draws his sonic structure from a diverse spectrum of styles, places and people. Hailing from one of the last remaining traditional strawberry farms in Kent, The Garden Of England is the foundation for his song-writing landscape. His eccentric father (having played on the London folk scene in the 70’s) and Dan can be found at the farm, mid fruiting season selling strawberries and playing into the night. 

Having spent a few years honing his skills in London and Liverpool and busking his way round Europe, Dan threw himself into the Swedish Indie/Folk scene collaborating with some of the most interesting talent around, the core of which “The Stars Above”quoted “one of Sweden’s finest Americana Bands” (Maverick) put out 2 releases………both now sold out. These records sealed him a Publishing Deal with George Martin Music, support slots for Bloc Party, Jeffrey Lewis, Air Traffic, The Good Books, Clear Lake and The Brute Chorus not to mention XFM and BBC airplay and exclusive sessions on BBC and Virgin Radio.

Now working on a new release with (amongst other producers) double Grammy winnerGiles Martin, 2009 is set to propel Dan into the popular consciousness.
