Female fronted Alternative Rock act Avacate (pronounced A-VACATE) from Bristol U.K, forge a unique twist on the rock perspective. Laden with emotive female vocals, post rock guitars regurgitated by crazy FX pedals, the core glued down by punky dub bass and driven by high octane drumming.
The four piece have achieved notable DIY success since its inception in 2006; Highlights include recording and self releasing their ‘Patterns of Disharmony’ E.P. A Rock Reggae affair that also features the hot talents of Jamaica’s Troy Ellis (son of Alton) and Bristolian MC Shadz (Wedge/M4records/Central Spillz). Radio One air play by Joe Whiley and Steve Lamacq and a prestigious slot at the NEC Birmingham U.K (music live) are also under the bands belt.
They have since completed 3 successful DIY tours of Europe via England, France, Belgium Germany and Denmark. The 3rd tour lasted two months taking in all manner of venues and events, Clubs, Squats, Cafés, Festivals a Castle and a Women’s prison in Germany.
2009 saw Avacate release their debut album ‘Ghost Of A Former Self’ through U.K label Inner City Grit, playing shows all over the south west U.K, hitting up the summer festival circuit and venturing out on the Netherlands 09 tour culminating at the legendary Exit Club in Rotterdam Holland.
